George was known as the quiet Beatle. He spoke slowly and softly with his strong Liverpudlian accent. He was a big fan of Monty Python and financially sorted many of their films including The Life of Brian - in which he appeared. He was also a fan of Hoagy Carmichael and told Michael Palin as much in 1979. He covered Hong Kong Blues on his Somewhere in England album in 1981. A long term friend of Eric Clapton, he wrote While My Guitar Gently Weeps as well as Here Comes the Sun in Clapton's extensive garden.

Harrison was also a film maker and made 25 films including The Long Good Friday and Time Bandits.
