Eventide Sheet Music

Eventide is a popular Christian hymn written by Henry William Monk. The tune is more commonly known (with different lyrics) as Abide With Me. These lyrics were written by Henry Francis Lyte in 1847, in fact the melody of the song Eventide is so popular, it has been re-used with different lyrics in many different songs, in different countries. These include the German song "Bleibe bei mir Herr" (Stay with me, Lord).
According to Monk’s wife, Eventide was written at a time of great sorrow.
