Fairytale Of New York Sheet Music

Fairytale Of New York Sheet Music

Ahh, the Fairytale of New York! What a famously irreverent Christmas song. This places the lovely voice of English singer Kirsty MacColl, who died very young in a boating accident, against the dentist's nightmare that is Shane MacGowan from Ireland. Shane performed on this record with his band, The Pogues.

Shane wrote the words and music with Jem Finer, an English musician, artist and composer. He was one of the founding members of The Pogues. The lyrics are really biting and start off with:

It was Christmas Eve babe
In the drunk tank
An old man said to me, won't see another one

Nice, eh?
